Recognize that most caries preventative measures are recommended for all
individuals. However, these recommendations appear to be inadequate for some,
and others do not follow the recommendations. In these situations, limited
alternatives exist.
o Caries Prevention and Treatment

Prevention
● Limit sweets and b/w meal snacking
● Brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste
● Regularly see dentist

Treatment
● Early decay can be reversed with intense fluoride treatment
● Operative dentistry – remove decay and restore when possible –
Hall technique – crown over caries.
