O(cid:374)y(cid:859)s e(cid:374)tire corporate system had been locked up, wiping hard drives, freezing e-mail accounts, etc. Lawsuits were enacted by former sony employees, arguing that the company was careless in protecting the personal data of its employees, such as social security numbers, performance evaluations, medical data, etc. In response, the company offered a year of credit monitoring to current employees. The sony attacks were extremely disruptive, knocking out computer systems and allowing the release of internal documents to be shared widespread on the internet.
