Emp: convergent- your measure is more strongly associated with measures of similar constructs. Emp: discriminant- ur measure is less strongly associated w/ easurements of dissimilar constructs. Being aware of confounding variable ( a specific type of ext var, and the ctrl) Validity is how accurate a measure is to measure a constant.
