Document Summary

He wrote down a lot of socrates ideas as well as his own: describe plato"s method of teaching. Plato"s cave allegory had some captives chained up in a cave are staring at a wall. They see things on the wall moving and that is their reality. One of the captives break free and turn around to see objects moving by a fire that makes him realize that the movements are just shadows. Then he makes his way outside to the new world and goes back in cave to tell other captives about what he saw. The cave symbolized what happened to socrates. The main character in the story was socrates, or metaphorically, a captive who broke free. At the end of the tale, he was killed. The others were scared of his news because they didn"t have any other reality and assumed he had gone mad. A concept that represents the city and soul.
