Minorities tend to concentrate in regions of the west coast, east coast, and south. Big cities also have larger minority populations for reasons such as employment. It is nothing to do with biological makeup. There are no genetic markers that define race. 85% of genetic variation comes from individuals within a population. Meanings, assumptions, and laws are tied to race. The modern concept of race was modeled after an ancient theorom of the great. Race was a mode of classification linked specifically to peoples in the colonial situation. It subsumed a growing ideology of inequality devised to rationalize european attitudes and treatment of the conquered/enslaved people. The concept of race was invented in america in the 18th century. No genetic variations according to so called racial groups. No intrinsic values despite what society has assigned. Still has significant importance because of social reality. Originally, power struggle was over religion- not race.
