Gender is the difference of men and women by more than just physical traits. Gendered work separates men and women from different types of job. The ideology of separate spheres contribute to this by creating the division between the home and the workplace. With this came the idea that women should be at home and men at work. Prior to industrialization, both men and women worked to produce goods for their household. As the industrial revolution starts to take place, more men are finding jobs away from farming at home, as the women stayed home to take care of the kids. This created some new distinctions between men and women paid and unpaid work. How well does it explain sex inequality?--be specific (what does it account for, what doesn"t it?)
