Competing ideas of: justice- what is ultimately right/fair, the good life- individual preferences- might not reach agreement, that"s ok. Individuals with different values agree for different reasons- not value based, or plan solves for both values. Recognition is looking for common ground, questioning sources of disagreements. But dangerous- can lead to abuse of power, misrepresentation. Intention should be empowerment, not replacement and obviously not manipulation.
