If you want to be able to evaluate claims, surveys, etc. you might see in the world, understanding behavioral research is important. Occupations may require the application of research findings. Public policy (e. g. , brown v. board of education banning school segregation) 10-15 years ago, before term stem was used, students would enroll in a summer program designed to improve overall stem abilities and improve weak areas. It was said to work by established people and teachers. Measure performance pre- and post-program, however that isn"t a reliable measure of effectiveness because any classroom environment promotes learning in some way. The program must be compared to another program, not just to no stimulus whatsoever. Everyone uses it, but it"s not always accurate. Humans are pre-programmed to see cause and effect. Christmas lights twinkling without music is normal, lights with music makes it seem like the music is responsible for the pattern of twinkling.
