Biorhythms the inherent timing mechanisms that control biological processes linked to the cycles of the days and seasons produced by earth"s rotation. 24 hour cycle of day and night day night cycle changes across the seasons. Inclined towards sun: southern hemisphere feels summer where northern hemisphere feels winter. Behaviour is dominated by a circadian rhythm of daylight activity and nocturnal sleep - the activity of nearly every cell in body including gene expression also has daily rhythm. Biorhythms not unique to animals, plants display rhythmic behaviour almost every living organism displays rhythms of some sort. Experiment: plant was isolated from daily external cues; light, dark and temperature ques movement of leaves continued - other external ques caused this effect plants functions came from within the plant (endogenous biological clock) Most organisms have biological clocks that synchronize their behaviour to temporal passage of a real day.
