Main argument/context: the main argument of this article is to illustrate the negative effects of colonialism on the subaltern through the means of the internet and computers. Priego is trying to show ways in which the subaltern can break this pattern and make themselves heard. Pregio talks about how computers affect the way in which we think about ourselves and the planet and how online decolonization leads to loss of identities and overshadowing of less dominant cultures. He illustrates a message that has been prevalent in this course, how colonialism leads to a hegemonic structure coming into place. Pregio is insistent however to combat this structure, one must not view themselves as victims. As (cid:373)ea(cid:374)s of establishing relations with others, national languages and online technologies can both create communities and alienate large numbers of individuals.
