Frankl believes that through his experiences in the concentration camp. He discovered that finding the meaning of life is essential to human existence. Part 2 iogotherapy: (we do not talk about this in class) summary: The first phase: characterize by symptoms of shock. For frankl the culmination of the first phase came when the prisoner"s were taken to the showers and all their clothes / possessions were taken from them. Frankl not able to keep his manuscript for his book: at this point that he realizes that he would have to let go of his whole former life. Frankl promises to himself that he will not commit suicide. Occurred a few days after entering the camps. Characterized by apathy and detachment: emotional death .
