Neuropsychology scientific study of the relations between brain functions and behavior. Brain tissue found within the skull. Cerebrospinal fluid cushions brain and assists in removing metabolic fluid, parts of tube folded forming crinkly tissue that expands to cover most of brain. Fissure large sulci: longitudinal frontal, divides two hemispheres, lateral divides each hemisphere in half. Corpus callosum commissure that connects the hemispheres. Lobes hemisphere formed them: frontal-front, parietal-top, occipital-back, temporal-sides. Forebrain consists of cerebral cortex, develops from fro(cid:374)t part of (cid:374)eural tu(cid:271)e that (cid:373)akes up e(cid:373)(cid:271)r(cid:455)o"s (cid:271)rai(cid:374) Spinal cord brainstem connected, descends down the back within vertebral column. Animals with only spinal cord preceded ones with brainstems, which preceded those with forebrains. Prenatal development spinal cord before brainstem, which forms before forebrain. Function forebrain mediates cognitive functions, brainstem mediates regulatory functions, spinal cord conveys sensory info to brain and vice versa.
