Men and women adopt different mating strategies based on context: sexual accessibility, fertility assessment, commitment seeking and avoidance, immediate and enduring resource procurement, paternity certainty, assessment of mate value, and parental investment. Sexual strategies theory: men and women have evolved distinct, contextual psychological mechanisms that solve adaptive problems in mating. Strategies: evolved solutions to adaptive problems, with no consciousness or awareness on the part of the strategist implied.
