A dominant theme emerging is that many grads lack appropriate skills, attitudes, and dispositions which in turn prevents them from participating effectively in the workplace". Complex and multidimensional one of the key probs w employability is that it isn"t clearly defined: can be viewed from 3 diff perspectives, higher education. It is possible to be employable yet un/under employed. Places focus on quality and sustainability of employment, theme mirrored by others who stress future oriented nature of employability, w a need for adaptability and transition in future market places. Employability requires possession of skills, personal attributes which are aligned to personality theory: link to personality theory along w qualitative nature and future orientation of definitions present further challenges to measurement of concept of employability.
