We would be building more schools than prisons. Boys would see their value and our future in their eyes: we can only raise our sons effectively by valuing the boys around us regardless of our relationship to them. And our daughters: we can affirm that everything we want for our sons we want for our daughters; nothing that boys gain can be at the expense of girls. We need to realign ourselves so that we are on their side. This involves working to help strengthen their ability to make good choices about their lives. If during childhood we have given them the information, skills and support they need to make good choices. To some extent nobody because we are all caught up in hurting others and being hurt ourselves.
