Choice theory is simpler and sidesteps common misunderstandings related to the term rational. Term has to be used differently, because most crimes do not appear rational to most people. Criminology has developed its own set of framework and concepts relating to choice theory, we refer it as crime choice theory. Thomas gabor says committing crime is like the common cold: nobody is immune, but we are not all equally susceptible. Differ in frequency, seriousness, persistence with which we commit crime.
