Society focuses on appearance of young girls which makes them think how they look is important. It"s how people learn about being human, how to act as humans, and about their group"s values, attitudes, expectations, and behaviours. What they think about their own statutes in society. Socialization = main process by which societies and cultures are perpetuated. Charles horton cooley (1864-1929) (work influenced george herbert mead"s ideas about symbolic interaction) that we learn answers to these questions through our interactions with people around us. Symbolic interactionists show how social interaction matters even for those components, because the ways they are translated into specific behaviours and attitudes, and the meanings a person gives to them, are the result of social interactions. A social status is a recognized social position occupied by an individual within a social structure. Different statuses come with different social roles.
