The natural origins of the polis: the family is the association established by (cid:374)ature to supply (cid:373)e(cid:374)"s e(cid:448)eryday needs and wants. Members of family called charondas, cretan: when families united, association goes beyond fufilment of daily needs. This is the village, composed of a colony of the family. Every family ruled by the eldest where kings originated: when several villages unite into a community that is nearly self-sufficient you have the formation of the state. Originates from the need to provide the necessities of life but continues to grow to provide a (cid:862)good(cid:863) life, (cid:374)ot just (cid:374)e(cid:272)essities.
