General choking signs = may have been eating and/or clutching neck: severe airway obstructions are real emergencies. Casualty may lose consciousness + suffer a cardiac arrest. S/s = unable to speak, unable to breathe, wheezy, silent/ineffective coughing, and/or unconscious: still able to communicate while choking so ask the necessary questions to help, mild airway obstructions cause distress encourage them to cough it up. If they stop breathing, place on floor cpr.
