Different things happen to you based on sex, age, class, ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation. Pink tax - women pay higher for the same services. Young, white, heterosexual males pay higher car insurance. Deviant: deviating from what is seen as normal or usual. Men entering the nursing profession are assumed to be gay, those who aren"t can seem deviant. Younger, more educated, more female, french-canadian, religiously liberal people support gay marriage more. In places where oil is plentiful, they tend to have the same group of political party in power for a long time. The capacity to shift from one perspective to another. Ranges from the most impersonal and remote to the most personal and intimate. Without sociological imagination, we can"t see an individual"s circumstances. Narrow perspective, can"t see broader social forces. When societies acquire more affluence, they become more soft and senile, then lose power. Observed middle eastern societies and their histories, cultures, and economies.
