When zeus secured his power, he released the titans. The gigantomachy: zeus defeats the giants and typheous. Zeus had to fight the giants that earth produced to challenge the new order of the gods, or that had been born when the blood from uranus fell upon the ground. Giants were imprisoned under the earth, usually in volcanic regions where they betray their presence by the violence of their nature.
