Life course: transitions of a person"s development to aging and possible life stages. Individuals may experience aging and leisure in their own ways. Leisure repertoire: opportunities individuals may have acquired across their life course. Life cycle operationalized into a combination of four factors: biological age, marital status, presence of children, employment status. Resources for leisure: time, space, skill, companions, equipment, money, less likely to participate of the activity is costly and available only at an inconvenient time. Transitions throughout the life course: relative importance of school, work, and family will vary at different stages of the life course. Leisure development through the life course: developmental theory: how we all come to be the individuals we are. Leisure helps us learn who we are and helps us become who we want to be: we are socialized through leisure, one learns and develops while identifying themselves.
