An attraction is usually the first thing you think of when you think of a city: entertainment value very important to picking a destination. Canada is most well known for its natural resources. Tourist need transportation, accommodations and food services: entertainment is fourth support. Entertainment is seen as attractions, events, and adventure tourism/outdoor recreation. Attractions consists of permanent sites/facilities that are always available to a tourist: whereas events attract specific target markets at specific times and adventure and outdoor recreation tourists want to be physically active. Aboriginal culture, heritage, and arts and our landscape are seen as our biggest attractions. Ownership type can vary from privately owned, non-profit or publicly owned: he said look at table 7. 1 on page 180. Government own and operate public attractions: money comes from taxes, but due to cutbacks, institutions also get money from entrance fees, special events,, parking fees, etc, food and beverage have big factor in additional revenue.
