Conceptualization- the process whereby fuzzy and imprecise notions are made more specific and precise. Reification- the process of regarding things that are not real as real. Indicator- an observation that we choose to consider as a reflection of a variable that we choose to study. Dimension- a specific aspect or facet of a concept. Specification- the process through which concepts are made more specific. Nominal measure- a variable whose attributes only have the characteristics of being jointly exhaustive and mutually exclusive. In other words the level of measurement describing a variable that has attributes that are merely different from eachother. Ordinal measure- a level of measurement describing a variable with attributes one can rank- order along some dimension. Interval measure- a level of measurement describing a variable whose attributes are rank- ordered and equal distances between adjacent attributes.
