SPCOM100 Chapter Notes - Chapter 4: Emotion Classification, Emotional Expression, Collectivism
Document Summary
Strong emotions will lead to bodily changes. These physiological changes can offer significant clues about your emotions once you become aware of them: cognitive interpretation. Sometimes emotions share the same physical behaviours, so it"s difficult to determine what emotions a person is experienced based on their physical behaviors. Most of our emotions come primarily from labels we give to our physical symptoms, but we might not necessarily have that emotion. Some people say they are not shy but they share the same symptoms as a person who is shy . Most emotions can be observed through non-verbal expression, however it is very difficult to determine what these emotions are: someone who is trembling could be very scared or very excited. Non-verbal expression might be the result of emotions, but emotions might also be the result of non-verbal expression: it is easier to act yourself into new ways, than to feel yourself into new ways .
