Stress the physical and psychological response to internal or external stressors. Health psychology the subfield of psychology concerned with the ways psychological factors influence the causes and treatment of physical illness and the maintenance of health. Stressors are personal events that affect the comfortable pattern of our lives and little annoyance that bug us day after day. Thomas holmes and richard rahe observed major life changes cause stress and increased stress cause illness. Chronic events sources of stress that occur continuously or repeatedly (i. e. strained relationships, bullying, overwork, money trouble, etc). Although small stressors, but too much of it can pile up and produce distress and illness. Chronic stressors are linked to social relationships. Chronic stressors can also be linked to particular environments (unsafe town, noisy city, isolated area, etc).
