Technology plays big role in creation of flash mob. Collective behaviour: non-institutionalised activity in which several people voluntarily engage. Crowd: large number of people in close proximity to form. Casual crowds: people who are in same place @ same time b/ not really interacting such as people standing in line @ post office. Conventional crowds: those who come together for scheduled event. Expressive crowds: those who come together to express emotions. Mass: relatively large & dispersed number of people w/ common interest. Members are largely unknown to one another & incapable of acting together in concerted way to achieve objectives. Public: unorganised, relatively diffused group of people who share ideas on issue. Members of mass share interests whereas members of public share ideas.
