Living standards approach --> creating their habitats based on the current living standards of society. Habits learnt through culture --> associate different symbols together so that it is natural, they structure our thoughts. Habits embedded --> enable us to navigate our everyday lives, based on familiarity and routine. Samantha lyeung --> expected to attain a house with a backyard after following a set storyline (the expectation that after she got a good job, she had kids and married well, it would naturally lead her to a house)
