Sensorimotor period: substages: basic re exes, do things with purpose, 4. intentional behaviour, 5. they"re trying things and seeing what it"s supposed to do, 6. starting to see things in their head before doing it. Ex 1: an object doesn"t exist if they don"t hear/see/touch it. Ex 2: if they fall, it"s because the carpet pushed them and if it"s raining, the sky is crying.
