SOC 7106 Chapter 25: SOC 7106 - Chapter 25
Document Summary
In america, most assume that it is about everything that wants to marry and just about everyone does with approximately 90% do at some point. The next assumption is one that emphasizes a sexual partnership becomes the only important peer relationship. Hence, those who have a sexual partnership are considered as better persons, they are more worthy, valuable and important than those who do not. They are happier, less lonely and more mature and have a more meaningful life. They further assume that the parent child relationship is the most important intergenerational one and again that everyone who marries will have children and are presumed as better individuals. Work which for men had a great significance has now describe less significant than marriage and family. The point of this article is based on the notion that these assumptions and ideologies are not tested and thus unrecognized. They are assumed then rather tested for plausibility.
