Before the internet communication was held though conversation, announcements, early town criers, and later messengers and mailing. Now we rely not the internet for most of our distance and wide span communication. The storage unit of data for the digital world is the byte" and is a group of 8 binary digits or bits that operate as a unit. A zettabyte is a multiple of the byte and has the storage capacity of 10^21 or 1 sextillion bytes. A search engine is a term used to describe a class of software that is designed to search for documents on the world wide web. Some examples of this are yahoo, bing, and our most favourite, google. The internet is the electronic network that links people and information through computers and other digital devices allowing person-to-person communication and information retrieval.
