Nutshells of acorns, hickories, black walnut, butternut and chestnut abundant. 32 stratigraphic levels (seen on figure 6 in article) Early holocene, forests surrounfing cliff palace pond were cool- temperate to boreal trees (includes spruce) Northern white cedar would favor seasonal climate of the early holocene.
