Indigenous people"s loss of self-determination is cause of violence against women/girls. Canadian government needs to rebalance power in relationship with indigenous community. Insufficient government funding is a key barrier in implementing recommendations. Indigenous girls who identify as lgbtq2s are more vulnerable to violence than non- indigenous girls due to racist, sexist stereotypes and poor socio-economic conditions.
