Barriers and facilitators for mental healthcare in pediatric lupus and mixed connective tissue disease: a qualitative study of youth and parent perspective. Almost all respondents placed equal emphasis on physical and emotional health, while some mentioned a connection between being in a stressful emotional state being followed by a lupus flare. Some respondents felt that the screening questions helped them to become more aware of their emotions. While in other cases, the respondents felt vulnerable and uncomfortable when being asked about her emotions. A few of them expressed a want to hide their true emotions, while two didn"t answer honestly. In regards to people that they would communicate their emotions with, participants commonly listed parents, friends, then other relatives.
