Argues there is considerable tension feminism and multiculturalist commitment to group rights in minority culture. Groups, even illiberal ones, have the right to be left alone. Advocates for group rights for minorities in a lib state have not addressed critique of group rights because: Focus on differences between groups rather than differences within them. Ignore that cultural groups are gendered - power differences between men and women. Advocate that group rights pay little to no attention to private sphere. Ignore that cultures impose roles on members and the context in which a person"s senses were first formed. Personal, sexual, reproductive life functions at the centre of most cultures.
