Gramsci"s concept of hegemony: hegemony is domination through ideological control and consent. Institutional orientalism refers to the institutions created by europeans such that they could gain authority over, alter, and rule the orient. Time space distinction is the separation of time and space which allows social relations to shift from a local to a global context.
