Single ds tablet contains 160 mg of tmp and 800 mg of smx. Caution use in seniors at risk of hyperkalemia. C. difficile more common than with other agents. Some experts recommend 8-10 mg/kg/dose iv qd for adults. Prior exposure to vancomycin associated with higher daptomycin mics. Pharmacokinetics, efficacy, and safety in children still being investigated. Only really used for treatment of uncomplicated ssti.
