In 1988 the united nations set up the intergovernmental panel on climate. Change (ipcc) to provide scientific information about climate change and released four reports in 1990,1995,2001,2007: almost all climate scientists agree that climate change is human caused and potentially dangerous. Adaption: those who can least afford it, and who have contributed least to climate change, will suffer greatly if we do nothing, while those who have contributed most will suffer relatively little. If an act or policy has good consequences, these principles say, this counts ethically in its favour. If changes in the environment matter ethically, it is only indirectly because of their effects for good or ill on human lives. Rights: constraints: libertarians believe in such rights and argue that government interference with citizens" property is ethically equivalent to robbery, even more controversial is the idea that ecosystem or environmental wholes have rights.
