Document Summary
Jupiter has a composition similar to a star but lacks nuclear fusion. Jupiter"s mass compresses its interior to a high density. Equatorial regions of jovian planets rotate faster than poles. Material near the equator bulges out because speeds around the rotational axis are highest there. Saturn is 10% larger around its equator because it has low gravity and a high rotation speed. The bulge exerts an extra gravitational pull that helps keep the moon and rings aligned with the equator. Jupiter"s core is slightly larger than earth by 10x more massive. Jupiter emits 2x as much energy as it receives from the sun(saturn and neptune emits almost 2x) Saturn generate heat when helium condenses to liquid in the interior forming helium droplets that slowly rain down deeper into the interior. Temp increases with depth in the troposphere. Methane clouds reflect blue light which gives neptune and uranus their blue colours.
