Document Summary

Behavior genetics: the study of genetics on how organisms behave while also considering environmental factors or influences. Temperament: the intensity of a person"s emotional reactivity; does have genetic effects such as physiological differences (heart rate, nervous system, etc. ) Heritability: the variation between people in a population after accounting for environmental factors (what"s left over). Molecular genetics: the study of function, structure, and how groups of genes interact with the environment or influence traits that affects our behaviors. Epigenetics: how the environment influences the way our genes are expressed without changes in the dna. Evolutionary psychologists tries to comprehend how natural selection shapes behaviors and traits. They try to explain our behaviors today from studying the decisions made by our ancestors. Three principles of evolution is that not everything has to do with evolution nor is happiness the purpose of evolution, and evolution is not selective of what may be useful in the future.
