Document Summary

Quantitative variables : variables that have numerical values on which you can perform arithmetic. Categorical variables : variables that are placed into categories. Distribution table : shows all the values of a variable, along with the frequency of each one. Scatter plots display the relationship between two variables. An association indicates that there is a pattern in the relationship. A positive association means that high values of one variable are associated with high values of the other, or that low values of one variable are associated with low values of the other. A negative association means that low values of one variable are associated with high values of the other, or vice versa. Line graphs are used to study chronological trends and patterns. Bar charts visualize categorical distributions using bars for each category. Bars are equally spaced and equally wide. The length of each bar is proportional to the frequency of the corresponding category.
