There was no unemployment in the soviet union . They had got away from the fetishization of material possessions . Special communist university mostly took members of the party. Not all that: one was considered literate if one could sign one"s name and read a simple sentence in any language. Students got special privileges, longer vacation and time off work during exams. Students in evening professional schools got small allowances. Steeped in slogans of equality of opportunities for women. They wanted little to do with cooking or cleaning. Replaced men in many jobs where strength wasn"t the main requirement. General confidence in the superiority of communism and support for bolsheviks. In a few years now we"ll be ahead of everyone industrially.
