History of sexuality part iv: the deployment of sexuality. West has placed a never ending demand for truth. Certain inclination has led to direct the question of what we are, to sex as history, as signification and discourse. Aim of inquiries is to move toward a definition for a specific domain formed by relations of power and toward a determination of instruments that will possible its analysis. Negative relation: effects take form of limit and lack. Insistence of the rule: sex placed by power in the binary system, power prescribes an order for sex, and power acts by laying down the rule and maintained through language. Cycle of prohibition: power employs nothing more than a law of prohibition. 3 forms (1) affirming such a thing is not permitted (2) prevent it from being said (3) denying it exists. Uniformity of apparatus: power exercised in the same way at all levels.
