Individualization in history of ideas, knowledge, literature, phil, and sciences. Referring only to itself but without being restricted to confines of its interiority, writing is identified with own unfolded exteriority. Question of creating a space into the writing subject where it constantly disappears. Culture has used writing in a sense to ward off death. Writer"s mark reduced to the singularity of their absence. Writing and death manifested in effacement of the writing subject"s characteristics. Task of criticism is not to bring out the work"s relationships with the author. Not to reconstruct through the text a thought or experience but rather to analyze the work"s structure and play of internal relationships. Hindered us from taking full measure of the authors disappearance, blurring and concealing the moment of this effacement and subtly preserving the author"s existence. Rigorously applied, notion should allow us not only to circumvent references to the author, but also to situate his recent absence.
