Document Summary
With the naked eye, we can see more than 2000 stars as well as the milky way. Here is a picture of the milky way from a mountain in hawaii. The camera allows you to see more than what you would see in person. constellation- a region of the sky, 88 constellations fill the entire sky. The brightest stars in a constellation may actually be quite far away from each other. Stars at different distances all appear to lie on the same celestial sphere. The 88 official constellations cover the celestial sphere. Celestial equator is a projection of earth"s equator onto sky, separates northern stars from the souther stars. The ecliptic is the sun"s apparent path through the celestial sphere. The celestial equator is always directly overhead at the earth"s equator. Horizon- all points 90 degrees away from zenith. Meridian- line passing through zenith and connecting n and s points on horizon.
