Cutting: splits a piece into smaller components. Trimming: implies removing and discarding a small unusable portion. Most work printed on oversized sheets, then trimmed down to final size. Printing multiple-up: combining two or more of same image on larger press sheet. Reduces the number of total sheets to be printed. Described by number of pieces on press sheet. Ganging: printing two different jobs on the same press sheet. Commonly used when one job does not fill press sheet. Bleeds: ink that extends off one or more page edges. Accommodate for minimum sheet sizes of a press. Capable of cutting three to four inches of paper. Rotary slitters: cut paper printed from rolls on a web press parallel to the running direction. Rotary sheeters: cut perpendicular to running direction. Paper is cut in lifts of 3+ inches.
