They used digital surveillance, tracked and iltered their networks, and took over the acivists" emails and. People complained that this violated their freedom of speech, however people need to understand what freedom of speech means. The dicionary deines freedom of speech as the right to express any opinions without censorship or restraint. however, certain categories of speech are not protected by the first amendment and may be prohibited entirely. Among them are obscenity, death threats, and any words that cause harm to others. In other words, any action against decency, and violent elements that incite to hate are not protected by the first amendment. It is stated that before the internet was introduced to society, the enemies were on one side of the fighting line and the victims were on the other side.
