Late 19th century they launched new research together which led to the modern field of experimental psychology. Focus on the study of conscious mental events - feelings, thoughts, perceptions and recollections. The only way for someone to study another person"s thoughts are using. Introspect - aka look within , to observe and record the content of our own mental lives and the sequence of our own experiences. Introspection was later discredited due to the knowledge that some thought are unconscious, and this means it was inevitably a research tool.
