Skin ulcer at infection site/bite, swollen/painful lymph glands, fever, sore throat, diarrhea, inflamed eyes and face. Buboes (egg-like swelling), bleeding, and pus exudation; nausea and vomiting. Fever, headache, muscle aches, stomach problems, dizziness, chills, fluid-filled lungs, shortness of breath. Endemic to ca, az, or, and wa; low infectious dose. Rust colored sputum; infected alveoli of lungs fill with fluids. Predisposing factors: alcoholism, poor nutrition, cancer, or diabetes. Mild, but persistent respiratory symptoms; low fever, cough, headache. Affects older men who drink or smoke heavily. Coughing, wheezing that lasts a week in infants. Occurs in newly infected infants and immunosuppressed individuals (aids) Tubercle and ghon complexes on x- ray; coughing with blood. Can cause severe illness, especially in immunocompromised individuals. Low grade fever, productive cough, night sweats, weight loss, skin ulcers. Pharyngitis, sunburn-like red skin rash, strawberry tongue, pastia s lines (red line on armpit) Pseudomembrane blocks passage of air to lungs; double vision, slurred speech, shock.
