I feel like i"ve definitely seen people do the exact same thing multiple times. Not about tool use about problem-solving, it just happens that tools are often the way to do so. Or at least that"s how it seems considering escape artist status. Definite motivations beyond utility if in pursuit of foods they like but could easily supplement with something else. Change duration for necessity, clear goal in mind, capable of changing means and line of thought when necessary. Intelligence focuses on where it"s needed, in an environment like orangutans where most food needs to be essentially processed in some way this makes sense. After all both don"t need to use tools to get their food but instead are utilizing natural characteristics (i. e. claws, dextrous fingers) Perhaps should open up the possibility that many other animals we don"t necessarily consider smart" have their own culture, if not especially complex ones.
